Rolled Beeswax Taper Workshop
Learn how to make beeswax candles with no melting required! In this class, we will be using sheets of beeswax to hand roll into 12” tapers. Each sheet is made in Canada, with pure, Canadian beeswax. Just wait until you smell this stuff1
Students can choose from natural (yellow), or two choices of coloured sheets.
REQUIRED: Please bring a hairdryer if possible. I will have some to share!
Each student will make and take home four candles.
Beeswax Pillar Workshop
Location: Thairapy Beauty Bar, 3 Kent St W., Lindsay.
Learn the traditional craft of making beeswax pillar candles in this hands-on workshop! Participants will work with pure Canadian beeswax to create a “fluted” style pillar candle using custom-made silicone molds. Students will have the option to add colour, or keep that natural yellow hue. The session covers safety, materials, techniques for melting and pouring, and finishing methods for a professional look.
What you’ll learn:
Properties and benefits of beeswax (clean burn, natural scent, low soot)
Safe melting and handling of beeswax
Preparing molds and wicks for pillar candles
Pouring and cooling techniques to minimize air pockets and cracks
Trimming and finishing methods for smooth edges and even burn
Basic troubleshooting (sinkholes, tunneling, uneven burns)
What you’ll take home:
Each student will make and take home TWO pillar candles
This workshop is suitable for beginners and crafters with some candle-making experience. No prior knowledge is required. Participants should be comfortable working with hot materials and following safety instructions.
Soy Candle Workshop

Candle making is a bit more than just melting and pouring wax. To make a great candle that burns properly, has a good scent throw, and looks pretty, there are some important thechniques to consider! Learn how to make your own beautiful soy wax candles by understanding the importance of temperature, timing, measurement and quality ingredients.
It’s going to be a candle buffet! Each student will make and take home TWO soy candles by choosing a combination of the following:
The Container - a choice of glass, ceramic and tin vessels (6-12 oz)
The Scent - a choice of woody, floral, fruity and citrus
The Toppings - a choice of dried botanticals or bare
Please note, we will be working with very hot wax! This class is not suitable for children (even though I loved having them for wreaths)!
