My Story

Flowers and gardens have always been a part of my creative make-up. I never considered myself much of an “artist” because I couldn’t draw, paint, or sing a single note with any admiration.

It was in 2006, working for a small Halifax florist, that I realized flowers were my artistic medium. And you could making a living playing with them! I had a whole lot to learn about the industry and social media wasn’t yet part of our daily lives. And I'll be honest - the shop I worked for was not interested in teaching me much about floral design or running a business - and that’s ok. I watched, I listened, I recorded every supplier they worked with and took every bit of inspiration I could along the way.

Having a few other floral gigs under my belt, I opened my first shop, in Whitby, in 2014. The next four years were a blur of weddings, workshops, shop renos, shop relocations, and endless lessons. I even took a “sabbatical” from flowers to make candles (something we started doing to sell at the shop) for the next few years.
